You could also take a piece
Of cardboard and place it next to the skull, take a compass and trace along it. I think it would be cool if you could make the skulls pop out if the column when people walk by.

I went simple and cut an extra in half. I'll post more pictures soon. the Skulls are ready though.

How about using the picture you took. Size the picture so that the skull is the same height as the real skull. Then print it out...cut out the skull and use it as a template on you columns.

I think the back is smaller than the front
like in the checks and chin areas. That’s OK I already cut one
I'll start the columns tonight and start posting pictures. of them and the fence.

Cutting the skull in half would be the easy way to do it, as you found. For anyone else doing the same thing, remember that the skull is rounded and the hole in the foam should be tapered inwards so that you have plenty of surface area for the glue to adhere to. So you shouldn't just pick a spot/measurement on the skull and cut the hole that size. The outer part of the cut should be that diameter but the inner part should be smaller.
