I couldn't be happier with it! It took 5 weekends to complete and cost about $250. It's made from about 8 1X2 furring strips, 4 sheets of pink foam board, 4 things of Liquid nails, the foam cross and letters I cut out from craft foam from Michaels, 2 three foot high 3 inch PVC for the columns and decorator moss. And Gray and Black flat latex paint. The candles I made last year. Pealey is a mausoleum in Santa Rosa where I'm from. I want to darken the cross and lettering but I'm afraid it will look bad, I'm not that good at the weathered/aged look.

Great job! Every year I see these great mausoleums. I really want to get around to making one. Right now my major problems are storage space (I guess every haunter gets to this point) and yard space. Although I do have this section of yard right next to the side of my house that had some huge shrubs that I removed. I was planning an planting a tree but maybe I will just leave it clear so I can build a mausoleum for the area.
I think I can start categorizing myself in the mild to hardcore Halloween fanatic when I start planning my landscape areas around my props lol...

Nice job - the blue lighting will look great at night with the candles. Are you planning to put anything spooky inside? ...ideas anyone?

My hovering ghost will be at the entrance, and I'm putting a fog chiller inside.

First off, great job!
If you didn't want to build or have the time to build a FCG, I think just a chained coffin with flickering lights inside the mausoleum would be effective. Or a open coffin with chains broken would tell another story and if you have an actor and a vampire costume maybe even a scare in the works.
