I wanted to use that plastic witches cauldron for something more than a paper mache mold, but always thought it was to cheesy looking.
I took some inspiration from this board and some others.
First I used the oatmeal mache technique to make the larger rust then I painted it using a reddish brown primer for a base coat.
Next I used some latex oops paint that was close to black and mixed it with sand for the second coat of paint. I did not cover it completely as I wanted the primer showing through.
Lastly, I dry brushed metallic silver on the handles and on the lip.
How's it look?
