I found this light in my in-laws cabin garage...must weigh 50lbs of solid plaster. It's classic 70's gold. I thinking I should paint it black. Should I add silver to it? The inside of the house is becoming more goth/sophisticated style for Halloween. Black and silver type decor. Maybe I should add that black glitter to it... I dont know... I can't decide on anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
p.s. my family thinks I'm crazy but I see potential lol

black and silver would be a great combo!
and your inlaws are crazy!!!
that piece is great/ little heavy lol but hey worth it. you could drape a small lacy type cloth across the hooks? may even a piece of lace with fringes or tassels?

Clean it up,
paint it black,
dry brush it with silver.
That way you'll have a silver, well aged piece with "tarnish" in the crevices.
That is a winner. Go for it.

Cool light! I vote for the tarnished look.

Tell them to back off! lol! I like it! Looks best old lookin and aged for the more eerie appearance. That is an amazing piece of art you have there Suzielili! Two thumbs up!
I myself would probably try to have it cast in a plaster mold and make a bunch from 2 part polyresin foam. Then modify them with the electrical hardware to ad C-9 Flicker bulbs.
Those would be great throughout my home-haunt! If you ever feel the need to part with it, let me know. I am only a 45min drive from Pasadena. It is however a keeper!A Halloween prop is a terrible thing to waste..
"The Many Faces of Fear!" New for 2012!
