Don't get suckered into the high prices from Halloween retailers for those fancy fences that will cost you over $100 to cover a decent size area. They sell 5 ft of cheap plastic fence for $20.00. That's robbery!
Instead, check out Home Depot and get this:

That's 20 feet for under $50 ... and it looks like a cemetery fence!

Love it! It's perfect. I was trying to find something to keep kids from walking right into my grass & through my tombstones.

It says it's only 12 inches high. Even a toddler could step over it or trip on it. I'd use it to maybe mark off a grave plot. but for most home haunters a fence of 3-4 feet high is a must to really serve as a barrier. It looks cool though, just not practical to surround a yard perimeter IMO.

You can get some cheap rectangle hay bales and stick these on top to add height.

A PCV fence doesn't look as authentic, but they are inexpensive and easy to construct. I think I spent more on black spray paint then the rest of the material.
I have 10 runs of 8' a piece. Material cost is two 1x2x8, I think 3 10' 1/2" pvc.

I worry about theft. If I spent $200+ on a cemetery fence and it gets stolen overnight - I'd be crushed and probably never replace it. Do most of you only setup your themes on Halloween day and tear it all down at the end of the night?
bl00d, don't forget to add black paint!

I picked up some old cedar fencing off craigslist for free. I'll post some pictures after it's done. But it's pretty easy to build. I just cut my 4X4 to about 3 feet, then I screwed 2X4 to make feet for the posts. Then I just screwed the boards to the posts. When I'm done I can take it apart and store it in the shed in a pretty small space.
