I mentioned these in another thread, they arrived today so I took the pics below to show their brightness. I used my son as a guinea pig (he'd just woken up, hence the bed hair) I took the photos from a distance of 4 feet away (48 inches or 1.2 metres) during the day with the blackout curtains closed. The red was the dimmest but the wall beind my son is painted light blue and my Husband said the blue would have an effect on the red light due to blue not reflecting red as well.

    Size:

    Blue:

    Red:

    White:

With the end being domed they'd be great to use as led eyes.

I got them from here, ebay seems a cheap source for this of thing.

I found green and purple on this UK site

Edit: I tried them in the dark, the blue is the brightest, white next then red being the dimmest.

I'll have social services onto you for blinding your poor son, straight out of bed, with LED lights!

    Actually, those lights look interesting.

I cannot see the pics (danged work computer) but the link showing the lights looks great. It appears that the LED is encapsulated in the dome? Very cool idea, thanks for sharing. My wife and I visited our daughter in London last May. It was fantastic.

i used some of these last year. the green ones are very bright. i ended up covering them slightly to shut out some of the lights.

+ at my halloween party i shoed some of the younger kids them and they all wanted one - leaving me one prop with one eye!!
