I saw this earlier today and realized it would look great as part of my display.
My difficulty is how to make the mud/quicksand. I don't want to use actual standing water if it can be avoided. Any brilliant thoughts?

Take a plywood sheet, build a dam type thing around it. Just basically 2 X 4's. Tan paint that has not been thoroughly mixed, pour it onto the plywood so its a little thick, let it dry but while still tacky throw sand on it and stick your props onto it.
I dont know...just a thought off of the top of my head. I dont have much else there. We dont need a body bag, we need a bucket.............and a strainer.

You can get clear casting resin at the craft store.

A mixture of sand and high gloss varnish would probably do you. Paint the plywood, glue the sand, pour the varnish. Done.
