    hey everyone,
I have seen this effect done at a couple of the pro haunts that I go to. From what I have seen it appears to be a paintball gun that is hooked into an air line, the actor can squeeze the trigger and it shoots out small blasts of air that startles visitors. Any ideas on how to build one of these? It may be really simple but I am not all too familiar with paintball guns and how they work.

I am not certain on exact guns that they used, or type of gun. I know some places have used propane powered special effects machine guns and mini guns in haunts. Some have used basic semi auto paintball guns, however I would not use one in a backyard haunt due to safety. Fx guns are designed to not accidentally fire any projectiles, while a paintball gun will shoot anything if it is placed in the barrel. Just imagine if a guest saw this as an opportunity and tried to fake a scenario where you "shoot them" and then the cops would come and think the worst. I would not recommend this in any way.
