I'm looking for any and all pointers on buying latex, using latex, storing latex, coloring it, anything!

I haven't used latex in the past but I'm preparing to build a "bluckie" mini-army and have seen latex used as a corpsing medium. ALSO I have a CRISPY skeleton from Spencers (about five years ago) and he has basically disintegrated and I thought about using latex to glue him back together... (also thought about latex as a fixer for other props that are getting thin on the shoulders and such)

ANY help will be greatly appreciated! WARNING: I probably will question you more if you post back.

    Thanks
    Logan

Fightprops and screamlinestudios seem to be the best sources for bulk mask/casting latex. I use Deviant liquid latex for anything that will be touching human skin (cover the label if you've got kids in the house)
    Undead and loving it!

i picked up a gallon of liquid on ebay. super cheap. i think it was a total of 30 bucks including shipping.

the big lesson i learned? keep it in consistent temperatures!!! My first gallon froze and was useless.

I do the latex pantyhose method and i just LOVE the effect.

use it outside or in a super well ventilated area. that stuff stinks and will knock you off your feet if you are in a small space.

for color, ive only recently started this and used acrylic paint. seems to work fine but some feel colored latex paint is best. do a small sample and let it dry to see what you will get colorwise.

Facial latex adn molding latex are different. though you can use both interchangeable, the molding stuff may irritate the skin a lot more. the facial stuff takes more quantity to mold.

i buy flesh toned but the last gallon i forgot to check and it dries almost clear unless its a super thick amount im using.

a little goes a long way too. i love the stuff.
