    I am going to run three 24VDC solenoids for my asylum door prop. How do I supply 24V?
    Thanks

    I haven't yet, but I'm going to order 24V wallwarts and then appropriately sized barrel connectors. The barrel connectors will save me from cutting off the barrel connector on the walwart thus making it easier to disassemble and reuse.

    I've found them at digikey and mouser so far.

    I would look at this one.

    Nice to run all solenoids off one power source.

    Might find one that does 12v and 24 v you need 12v for the DTMF board.

    @Charles:

    Something to be careful about is that the cheaper supplies are unregulated. Essentially, a 24v unregulated power supply will only provided 24v if you provide the correct load (resistance). Too much resistance, and the voltage will drop below 24v and you solenoid won't energize. Too little resistance, and the voltage will be too high and might damage the solenoid.

    The item mentioned above (which is regulated) seems to be a really good price. It lacks a power cord (this looks promising: http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a...D-BLACK/1.html) and a non-standard 6.5mm/3.5mm connector. I couldn't find one, so you might have to hack it.

    You can buy a transformer from homedepot or lowes. They would be in the irrigation section. Same transformer used for a sprinkler system. They are about $20. I just bought one for my air cannon I made.

    +1 to surplus regulated switching supplies. These things are rock solid, put out tons of current, and can be found pretty cheap, if you look around a little. I use a +5/+12 switching supply for both development and displays. Picked it up at All Electronics (30min from me) almost 10 years ago, for $25.
