I was only going to make one tombstone this year but I was mistaken, after several different yard sail and estate sell finds I came up with a collection of items I could combine. Also thanks to "halloweendarkangel" who gave me the perfect epitaph ""Come little children I'll take thee away, into a world of enchantment". Here I am making another stone, check out my video and see what you think, should I stay traditional or add my twist. Keep in mind I try to make my stones unique your feedback is appreciated.

I think it looks pretty cool as is [assuming a paint job of course]. I am really jealous of the columns--i can't find anything like that in an affordable price range. the busts go on them perfectly and the children's nursery images of pixies and pagasus are kind of creepy in a subtle way. Please post pics of teh finished prop.

Its looking really good. I especially like the pegasus and the stars. What are you using to carve with? Your lettering looks really professional. I don't know about the fiber optic light, though. I'm not feeling the love on that yet, but it may look totally different when its all painted up and in your setting.

i would paint it white with a black wash or all grey (the bust and colums incl) would light the hole stone with a spotlight and keep the fiber still i would not put hole in the tombstone maybe that would be too much ? but i would had the sound (song) playing behind the tombstone of come little children
the music would make it spooky i think...and add a witch laugh flying away ?
i think it is a neat tombstone idea you had and very original
shows us pic when it is done ...

Looks great so far. Can't wait to see how you paint it and pull it all together.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing,Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before

Very nice details on the foam and you did a real pro job on lining up the text. Can't wait to see it all painted.

Thanks everybody for your comments and compliments.

Ondeko, I was lucky and got both columns for $5.00, I want to make this stone more whimsical than scary.
Cinders, I use a exato knive at a 45 angle on each side of the letters which creates a "V" and then pick out the styrofoam. I know what you are saying about the fiber optic, I usually feel my way through a project. When I make the cube to enclose the light I probably will have the top a seperate piece so I add or remove the light depending on my mood won't know until it's all done.
Creepycathy & Creepingdth, the carving actually is getting easier with every stone I do.
a witch from canada, Love your idea about the paint job I have always painted the whole thing black then dry brush grey over. I am thinking about painting the letters and other carvings a dark dark grey and then painting everything white then get a couple spray cans of that stone it.
blackfog & buckaneerdude, Yeh I can't wait either I want it to be done by this weekend it helps that we are having a holiday.
I will keep you guys updated on my progress.
