Hi,
As my decorations have grown I've had trouble keeping children from walking up and playing with them. I've experimented with a "fence" of sorts basically pvc pipe spray painted orange and a chain running through it but I'd like something more elaborate. I'm fairly good with my hands but am willing to purchase. The problem is I want a fence that is mostly see through but at minimum 3.5 feet high to keep kids and parents out of the yard. My other problem is the length. One side of the yard is 45 feet long and the other is 51 feet long. I'd love some lights on it too. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Here is an old video of the lawn to give you an idea

Lots of good plans for cemetery fencing. Check out the monster list (scroll down to cemetery fence).

If you're good with your hands, check out my tutorial "My $1.20 Graveyard Fence".
I made 180 feet of fence for $54 (except for the paint).
The ends are 4 foot high and the middle is 3 foot high. You can alter the dimensions as you like. I made POINTS on them so people would be less likely to try to climb over the fence.

Cannot go wrong with PVC and wood. Mine is 1/2 inch electrical pvc (its cheaper than the plumbing pvc) 1 x 2 wood furring strips and plastic finials I got at Kings Architectural Metals (you can find them online) The decorative rings are slices of 4 inch pvc. Cost about 8 to 10 bucks per 4 foot section, but if you are less decorative than I was you could get away much cheaper. I used 4 inch spacing, if you went with 6 or 8 inch, lose those rings and go with a cheaper finial (topper) you could get the price way down. This fence always keep the kiddies out, I guess because it looks so real.
Its so nice to be insane, no one asks you to explain...

I agree jdubbya, Jaege, I like the ornamentation on that fence! It's great! Excellent job! Where did you get those pole toppers?
Do you happen to have a tutorial on those columns? Those are awesome as well!Mordessa

I used to use an electric fence, but too many TOT's went running away crying to their parents, who then got zapped and went running to the police...(JK). So this year I made some of Jaege's design, and they are awesome. Great design Jaege: Looks good, light and easy to store hanging on a wall, cheap to produce, and easy set-up. These are a winner, and fewer liability issues than an electric fence! Thanks for sharing the design!
