I like the flickering candle lanterns a lot, too. the motion activated LED spot could be really useful in places where it's hard to run electrical safely--just put a colored gel in front to give more appropriate light than blinding white.

Spotted these on the same page. Is it just me, or might'n they look cool with some cheesecloth or an old white pillowcase draped over them?

I'm at that awkward stage in life... Somewhere between 'Annoying Fanboy' ...and 'Dirty Old Man'...

They would be very cool on horse drawn hearse. Maybe put some colored cellophane inside the lenses.

I saw a 7" version of this at a local home improvement store and thought it would make a good crystal ball for a witch or gypsy fortuneteller--just cut a hole in the table for the stake and you're set.

Both are great, the only suggestion I can make with solar is to go ahead and buy replacement rechargeable batteries as soon as you get the lights (you can find at Home Depot or Lowes. ) Usually what they ship with is not very good. Wait until you see what kind of battery is in there before you get replacements. Because you know if you order them now, you'll be testing them and you wouldn't want them to not be at full power for the big night.

I bought that set of 8 Westinghouse stake lights @ $16.99 to make my coach lights and I am watching the battery life on 4 of them. They are hanging out back and they do not all come on at the same time and all vary as to how long they stay on. I'm going to change the batteries about week before. They've been getting full sun back there as we are still in the midst of a very dry heat spell.
