Howdy, I'm a mechanical engineering student at Texas A&M from League City, Texas but more importantly I'm a loud and proud member of the fightin' Texas Aggie class of 2014.... AAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I have designed some of my own props that wew major hits and am doin mechanical engineering to hopefully do animatronics and maybe be an Imagineer... I am helping another member here build a spike guillotine prop (by help i mean i already had initial plans drawn up and showed them to him) while he is physically building the prop, weve both been tweeking the design as construction goes on...

If you need ideas or help (with design) post it here!

You are so talented. I absolutely love the idea of a SawZall for the electric chair Plus, you popping out of that box must have scared the heck out of a lot of ToTs.

I'm try figure out how to replicate this prop on a larger level, without pneumatics. I was thinking an uneven cam.

That is really nifty - but do I get to tell some Aggie jokes eventually?

    (awesome jack in the box!)

I am also impressed with the saw powering the electric chair guy. I have never done anything wih mine except use it for photos so I might be building a lil fella to roast.

Very cool props...love the electric chair....but I have a question...wont the motor on the saw overheat and burn out if left to run continuously?

The electric chair would be cool with a motion sensor connected to the plug of the saw.

Very cool idea with the saw!!!

use a motor with and arm attached to it with a longer connecting arm on that... this will create a push pull effect without bouncing the top portion around if it were on a cam its kinda hard to describe maybe a member can post videos of it...i never used it on any of my props

the sawzall isnt running constantly just a couple seconds at a time
the jack in the box had custom 4ft pvc pneumatic cylinders
jumping out of the crate scared everyone!
