I was thinking, why aren't there any "scary" inflatables? Seriously.
    Its possible.
For example Giant tentacles reaching out from under a garage door, out of windows on the second floor, a big eye glaring out a window...
Wouldn't that be cool? I think it'd be cool.
Anybody else have good Ideas for scary inflatables?

Images of Halloween, projects for Halloween, and rants about Halloween, all year long. Halloween is Beautiful.

I think Giant Tentacles could be scary, if done right. I like the Eyeball idea too! I can't think of anything to contribute, though.

Scary inflatables is an oxymoron if there ever was one!

Not sure why it doesn't seem possible that they don't exist, but they don't. Not yet anyway.

There's potential there, certainly. Especially with some moving parts and the right lighting.

But a Blow-up Frankenstein or Dracula? Later...

For something to be scary, there has to be a certain degree of realism. That's what separates inflatables from other types of props - there just doesn't seem to be any way to make them believable. Even the inflatable grim reaper looks goofy.
Sorry, I just don't think it can be done.

Yeah there's something about those giant puffy things that just doesn't lend itself to scary. Even the ones that are attempting it are just all "awww isn't it kewt!"

Though I'm sure some toddlers would think otherwise! You never know what's gonna make a 4 year old afraid.

I really like the giant cat that moves its head, how about a giant cat that swipes his paw at passersby? That would be startling....right before you giggle.

    I really like that cat...
