Well I had the wiper motor from last year but couldnt get a power source so I didnt use it. I took on the ATX power supply conversion.. I was bummed out when I finished all the soldering. I turned it on and nothing. I thought I had done everything right. I stepped away for a while. I went back and gave it a hard look. I figured it out without even touching it. The toggle switch I used has a metal base. and the PS case is metal. BOOM. I took the switch off and just let it dangle from the wires. Clicked it on and bang it worked. I checked voltage. 5v on one connector and 12v on the other. Perfecto. Now I can start my animated zombie prop. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

DVD Player Hack –

I feel your pain! Same thing occurred with one of my DVD player hacks. I mounted a jack for the control trigger on the back of the case. The body of the jack was grounding out on the case! Would not work. Took a little while to figure out what was wrong!

I tried to build one last year, all checked out with a voltmeter but once I put a load on it I had issue. I will have to check about the switch deal.
