This may be a reach...but does anybody out there remember cute cat- and cat-and-pumpkin cardboard decorations that had little bits on them with a "velvety" feel (some cheap "hairy" material or other)?
I remember these decorations...I LOVED them...reading about and seeing Beistle decs got me remembering these other ones. They were slightly newer than the Beistles...I think. Could have been mid-70s or possibly toward the late 70s.
The black cat had "velvety" fur, for instance, and that made it stand out from the cardboard part.
Anybody remember these? I'd love to be able to find them somewhere!!

I remember them and thought they still had them. If I ever see any, I'll let you know!

I know exactly what you're referring to! Cute little black cat kind of leaning against or maybe behind the jackolantern. I don't know if I've seen anything like that recently. I'll be on the lookout.
Is it Halloween yet?

I vaguely recall paper items with flocked areas on them from my youth, circa late 70's. Now that you mention it, I haven't seen any in a long while. Will definitely keep an eye peeled for you as I seem to live in the epicenter of cute, older decor.

Maybe if we see the images or something like it we can print them out on card stock and add felt with some mod podge?

There is a woman I found while looking up crafts for Halloween and Christmas.
She makes her own cards and I found a christmas one where you can put your own fuzzy like material on the card. It's callled fun flock, I don't know if its velvet feeling or not but she says it feels fuzzy. I imagine you can buy vintage Halloween cut outs and add this stuff to them as she has. The fuzzy stuff is about 1:30 seconds in. Don't know if this helps you but at least you could replicate the idea with an orange or black (for example). I havn't seen the actual fuzzy cardboard cut outs in years.
