    Hey Everyone!
    I am building a wooden toe pincher coffin out of 3/8 inch plywood and am having some trouble figuring out how to assemble and mount a wiper motor so that the lid will bang. The effect that I'm shooting for is the same as the one in this video:

    Here's a drawing I posted earlier for someone working on a teeter-totter prop. The principle would work the same for you, just rotate the picture 90 degrees! Mount the wiper motor on the back of the coffin and the armature to the inside of the "top" of the coffin. Use a motor speed controller to adjust desired banging motion.

    You could also mount a hinge at the bottom for the pivot point and set the crank arm up like in the diagram.

    That particular coffin is hinged at the bottom. I've needed to post a how-to for that one for about four years now.

    I'll see if I can find some video that shows how the motor is mounted.
