Alright so my buddy finally came and got his big air compressor from my garage after 3 years. Well now I dont have one for my pop up. I need to get one but not sure how big is big enough. I have looked on Craigslist for used one and I have looked at Harbor Freight too. Because I have a few other props to build, money is a bit tight. I would like to spend less than $100 for the compressor. I know that is not much, but if I could get one or two seasons out of it that would be good for now. I have included pics of the prop and a vid. Also the compressor at Harbor freight I was looking at. The prop pretty much runs all night. No timer. It goes off using a motion sensor. sound is not an issue as far as the compressor running. It is in my garage with the door closed. Do you think that this smaller compressor will work. It will be the only pneumatic prop running. All the equipment was purchased from fright props so it is all tight and works great. Thanks.

The one I have is this one:

It works very well. Runs an impact wrench, air brushes, fills car tires. I've had it for a couple of years. It's an oiled compressor so it should last a while. Doesn't weigh a whole lot or take up much space.

You should be fine with that, I have a very small craftsman, the smallest one they make taht i take on camping trips and it works fine. Only running one or two props you should be fine. The ghost looks to be pretty light also. I like your ghost prop, nice work.

With only .9 cfm @ 40 psi that compressor would be pretty much useless. If cost is that much of an issue the one Terror Tom posted would be alright it puts out 6 cfm @ 40 psi. Whem getting a compressor bigger is always better due to the fact you will use it a lot more than you think you will.

Quite a bit. If you think you will keep it at 35PSI I'm guessing 3-5 props. It's an 8 gallon tank. I ran 4 off of a 7 gal a few years ago until I upped my display. These were at 60PSI or more. Mine are portor cable brand compressors(7gal, 30gal).
Then you can always run reserve tanks down the road for $35 bucks. Then save up for a big boy (30gallon) down the road. See you at the tent event.

I went to harbor freight today. I am going to wait until next week when the 8 gal goes on sale. That one will run more than one prop so I wont out grow it for a long time. And it is only $20 more. Thanks for the input.
