Well I'm finally getting into the swing of getting stuff done so I thought it was time to make a new thread for this year's display. This year I managed to finish up the sound track for the light show in 3 days instead of 3 weeks!
The sound track is just over 16 minutes and includes portions of, or all of:
Trans Siberian Orchestra Epiphany and Carpimus Noctum
Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera (rock version of Andrew Lloyd Weber's oringinal)
The Nightmare Before Christmas - This is Halloween
Exorcist Theme Song
Portions of Pirates of the Caribbean
T-Rex Roar
Evanescence - Eternal
More Pirates
Ghost Buster's Theme Song
Halloween Theme Song
I do not have a light plot laid out yet, partly because I don't know exactly how many fixtures I have to use yet. One thing is for sure though, with the addition of more dimmers and at least two more moving lights this year should be a lot of fun and time programing it all!
More to come.

Please keep us posted. I'm interested to see this in action.

Will do, it will be a little slow here for a bit.
I came in from mowing the lawn today and realized I completely forgot two songs I wanted to use from the new Trans Siberian stuff that came out last fall. So I ended up re cutting some of it and adding them in.
Now it's time to do the lighting layout.

Here's some photos of this year's major addition to the light show. I spent a ton of time looking for a kit that fit my needs and these are what I came up with. It is a set of 8 RGB LED fixtures that all run off of a central power supply and are controlled by DMX. They are permanently installed in the soffit of the house. The fact that I was reworking all of the soffit this summer sure helped run all of the wiring!

Looks awesome great work post a video of your lights in action. Are you running LOR's for the lights?
Watch where you dig... you may find yourself...

That's a great idea! Something where you could keep you lights hooked up all year around and don't have to worry about them. Plus use them for multiple holidays. I would love to do this at my place but my house is two stories plus no soffits...maybe a future house project/Halloween project. Especially since I'm switching to a DMX system this year.

What DMX lights do you have?

Oooo yeah! I like those eaves. My next door neighbor had his enclosed like that and put lights in. I'd love to do it to ours and put lights in. I also like the idea of putting dmx lights in for color change.

For control I run Martin Light Jockey 2. I will soon be getting a joystick module which will allow me more freedom and ease while programing. LJ is VERY powerful in the right hands. I know quite a bit about it but I still also have A LOT left to learn!
These specific lights are the Alkalite Riva 80. They are meant for install jobs. I would really like to get a Octopod set next year, which is the same light but in a hanging bracket style case. I'm not sure I will though as the central controller set up really can limit what can be done with them. It can also create a spiderweb mess of cable. They are not actually outdoor rated, but with my install if they get wet I've got bigger issues!
Other lights for this years show will be some Elation Design Spot 250, 16 channels of dimming (I doubt I'll even come close to using them all though), 2x Chauvet Intimidator 0.0 units. I have several pin spots, a 750 watt strobe, a few small strobes, and a few surprises I may also use. I've got about 1/4 of the programing done and I have probably 10-15 hrs in it already.

That is an amazing list of lighting. Can't wait to see how this comes together. Just reading your thread made me search google 5 times to see what some of the lights you reference were lol. Very cool stuff.

Well it's all done and set up. I ran the show for a few hours last night and got a lot of complements. There were several changes along the away, like the "loss" of 6 moving fixtures that I had to replace with just 4 pars, but that's ok. There are defiantly places I'd like to go reprogram, and still might. All said and done I'm fairly happy with it.
There are some photos from last night in this thread here. I'll post some photos from tonight and a video here later.
