I've just got a interval timer relay to use with a prop, but i have no idea how to use it (NOOOB!). This is the exact kit i have
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...25224&T=Module

It is assembled and ready to go but i just can't get it to do anything. I think i need to do somthing with the potentiometers but i don't know what.
One is pause and one is pulse.

    Please help

    Thanks in advance

    Phil

Here's in link to the manual:

    manual

J1 pins 1 and 2 are for the DC inputs (12 - 15 VDC 100 mA) for the relay coil.

    J1 pin 1 = +12V DC
    J1 pin 2 = GND

J2 is for the relay contacts.

J2 pin 1 = NO (Normally Open) contact
    J2 pin 2 = Common contact
J2 pin 3 = NC (Normally Closed) contact

Potentiometer A will adjust how long the relay will stay energized (0.5 to 5 seconds).

Potentiometer B will adjust how long the relay will stay de-energized (2.5 - 60 seconds) before it is re-energized.

You need to apply 12V DC across J1 pins 1 and 2 and the relay will cycle on and off based on the settings of potentiometers A nd B until the voltage is removed from J1.

Ok i've done what you said to do but still nothing happens, i have noticed that led is not working, would this affect the circuit, also i have checked the power supply and that works fine.
Also how do i adjust the potentiometers.

The LED should light if the power supply is ok. Try removing the IC from the socket and see if the LED will light. If the LED doesn't light, nothing will work. You may have the LED in backwards.

The LED really isn't necessary. You could just "short out" (place a wire across) the two leads of the LED and see if it works then.

You probably had a bad LED or it was installed backwards. I would guess that it was just installed backwards however.
