Sorry all, the link in the 'Newbie' thread for this is down. For the life of me I can't seem to find a good comprehensive guide/how to for using pneumatic air cylinders for props for a newbie (maybe I've been in front of the computer too long today!).
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.![]()

I found this video pretty nifty, It just helps with knowing the different parts on a cylinder but is still very useful.
Hope it helps in some way or other

there are some other really good videos from fright props on YouTube, they go over mounting cylinders and i think there is one on different valves (have to check on that).

Here is a link that is very good, easy to understand and very informative. I use it occasionally as a "refresher". Beginner's Guide to Props and Pneumatics

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I've looked at the link above & it is quite simple to follow but it has made me realise that there is quite a lot more to pneumatic air props than I thought & I think I'm in danger of trying to run before I can walk!
I think this is a project for next year as there are so many other things I need/want to do first (which are swirling around in my head 24/7 at the moment!) and this is something that I need to sit down, plan & take in properly. However, when I do have that time I know this guide is here so thanks!'Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.’ Winston Churchill - Battle of Britain 1940.

Here's another good tutorial site - http://www.monsterguts.com/pneumatic...atic_index.htm
Don't be intimidated! Start with a simple prop and work your way up.
