Today was an eventful day. I made my first ever static prop, a lifesize Grim Reaper (made from complete scratch using garden rods!) and I made my first ever tombstone.

I'm really really pleased with how the tombstone turned out, and have bought lots and lots of foam to make more!

Grim still needs some work, but at least I have the basic structure of him in place.

Great job, that tombstone is awesome.

Grim is off to a good start, and I realize you are not finished with him yet, but if I might suggest (IMO) to soften that roll of fabric on his head. It looks kind of like he has a big curl in his hair, and he looks really happy. I would just drape the fabric over his head, if possible, or give it a hooded look. I like the idea of using the garden poles. A little different take on the tomato cage monsters. Good thinking. Those hands are super creepy, BTW.

Yeah, that's one of the things I have to do...I want the hood to be more pointed rather than rounded.

I just found the garden rods in my shed. I guess the last person left them. Taped three into a basic tripod structure with reinforcing struts. The hands are garden wire and masking type, from a tut I found somewhere.

Grim's shape also needs to be a bit better defined, he's kind of a blob at the moment!

Grim, version 2.0. I've given him chicken wire arms (the eventual plan is to have him holding a lantern and a scythe, so he's still a work in progress) and sorted out his round head!!

A second tombstone. Embossing letters is a nightmare, think I'll stick to engraving!
