Hello! I was wondering if many of you use pressure mats for your props? I know that spirit has them. Are they only compatible with props made by spirit? I would like to use them on my sound or motion activated props.(headless bride, michael myers, edwarian butler for example). How do they work and how do those of you who have them incorporate them into your haunt so that they are not so obvious but still work? Thanks for any info!
Sorry if this is under the wrong prefix it wouldn't let me choose animated?

I have the same question! I read Gemmy's website (they make those foot pads) and it says they work with any of THEIR props... So I don't think they'll work with just ANY prop...
I would love to use some of them for non-Gemmy props, but I don't think you can.

I might get some this year too, if Spirit have them.

    $5.99 seems over-priced for a foot pad....but what at Spirit isn't over-priced?

You have to a "try me" plug for the pads to work.

I got one free last year from the Spirit manager. You will have to change the adapter on them.It would not fit on any of my test plug in props including the small Gemmy stuff. Harbor F. and tools has some better mats but they are $10.

The ones at spirit only work in certain spirit props. For instance that little ghost that rises up and sways back and forth. The plug in looks similar to a tiny phone plug. We tried unsuccessfully to change the wiring to add different ends and it didn't work, might be the size of the wiring or something. They work great for props that they are designed for.

I just checked mine, it is made by and for use on Tekky Toy's props, like the Hovering Ghost.

I prefer to make my own with some aluminum foil, wire and a few other materials.
You could make one for pretty much any animated prop you want. Just splice it in line with one of the power wires (DC power only for safety's sake) and it acts like a temporary switch.

Yep, that's a tekkytoy mat. If you have their props, you're golden.
