What are you trying to do with this? You can trigger it with a light motion sensor..............

I'm doing the same thing. Im using a motion sensor from a flood light Then I got a part that screws into the socket that has a plug on it. get your sound on a mp3 player ( I picked up one for 5 bucks at big lots) plug that into a computer speaker that is plugged into the light socket. The key thing is that the mp3 player will always be playing, but the motion sensor, when tripped will turn on the speaker playing your sound,

Do you have a cassette player? If so that would be one way to do this. Record your sound effects to a cassette (I personally would use a looping cassette) put the cassette in the player and push down on the play button. Plug the cassette player into the motion detector and every time the detector is activated the sound will come on.

This works great for "sounds" but not on a string of words because the cassette will start back where it stops.

This forum has a few cd player hacks if you decide to go that route. Do a search for cd player hack and I'm sure you will find something.
