I would love to add an air cannon to make the TOT's jump in the display, but the ones I've seen are very expensive.... Do any of you have any cheaper ways to shoot blasts of air at the TOT's? I don't think I'd ever spend hundreds of dollars for one of the ones at frightcatalog.com.
Thanks!![]()

I hope someone can answer your question, because I'd love to do this too. It's hard to come up with things like this when you're new to the technological side of home haunting and are also on a tight budget. Anyone have any ideas?

I built 2 this year. You could build one for around $100 if you want to do it right "commercial grade one".
$35 5 gallon tank
$35 1/2 NPT Solenoid
$10 air regulator
$20 Metal Piping, quick connects, extension cord, etc

The only "homemade" way I've seen yet is this!

I could do it with simple materials, but I would love that air blasting sound that catches people off guard.
Anyone have any ideas?!?

I think I just found the answer! I'm just going to use this!

I already have a similar one sitting around, and I just tested it. Do some quick pumping, and there you go! You do a quick squeeze when TOT's come by. A good burst of air accompanied by a sort of loud sound will probably be enough to startle people! I'm happy I found a solution!

Backyardhaunter,
Yes the tanks are from Harbor Frieght.
Pick up a real water/air solenoid and not a sprinkler valve. They make a crazy sound if not hollowed out with a spade bit. Sounds like a wounded duck being stepped on. They are cheaper but trust me these both scared the snot out of me at 60PSI, at 90PSI it moves some air quick. Can move light things from arcross the room. Here is the 1/2 solenoid I use.
