This year will be my first offical Halloween display YAYYYY!

    I've got gravestones,a gravegrabber,corpses,
spiderwebs (if they count as a prop ),skulls and fog. I also have some different
props which don't really fit in a graveyard scene, but as it only happens once a year why not add as much horror as you can hah. These include props like a MITB and a decapitated man.

What other props do you see necessary in a graveyard scene, or maybe the finer details which help add to the success of your display. ?????

If you have the time, a gate with columns and a fence makes it look "official"

Here are some links to look at

got a couple of pics to show:

the pvc candles really dress up a cemetery in my opinion. a cemetery fence of some kind is nice, too.

coffins, either whole of groundbreaker-type are cool. maybe a vulture, or owls... old faded silk flowers add realism to any cemetery scene.

Crows, a vulture, rats, bats in a tree, skeletons, hands sticking out of the ground, spiders, a coffin or half coffin sticking out of the ground. A lot of your atmosphere will come from good lighting, fog, etc..

If you have the time and skill - a flying crank ghost in a crypt is always awesome in a graveyard.

Coffins, a gravedigger, eerie lighting, skeletons...

Dead flower arrangements - you can ask at florists' stores to see if you can get any dying flowers, or ask at a cemetery if they have certain days during the month that they clear the dying arrangements off of the gravesites and if you could go pick up a few...

I think everyone else's posts are pretty much it!

Coffins, weathered tombstones, maybe an official entrance gate/columns, fencing, groundbreaking monsters, and some hanging creatures. To make everything work, you need some good lighting and maybe strobes on some things.

It's great to hear it's your first display! Have fun!

I think most people covered it but in case it was missed...spiderwebs and foggers(huge for graveyard scene), sound effects or some cool tunes to play... some do atmosphere sound effects( thunder, ghostly moans, creaking doors etc), some do music themes such as Addams family , Munsters, Thriller etc. Also...the PVC candles with the flicker bulbs or any flicker candles to highlight more elaborate graves, PVC or some type of graveyard fencing/columns/entryway( as someone mentioned this prop will put anything you have over the top ) If you can make boarded windows for your house it helps to set the scene...gotta love an ultimate yard haunt with the pristine house in the backdrop. This year will be the first year that we will do the window boards. In your graveyard - if you have a lot of trees or a place close by that has dead leaves or dead pine needles...grab some black garbage bags and fill them up to cover the ground. Kind of the same idea as the window boards... well manicured green lawn vs dead leaves and pine needles and dirt. We done have like ANY trees at all...except for a palm tree(scarey huh?) so we go to the play park down the street that has a ton of trees that drop their needles and we fill tons of bags of them and spread them all over the graveyard...it looks fabulous when the grass is covered and when its over just rake em up and haul it back lol. No digging no mess. Hope this helps a little

Thanks guys, i would love a crypt but our garden is really small, infact you probably wouldn't even count it as garden/yard its so small. i've got some rats, but the owls and bats are a great idea. thanks
