Thread: Made a faux marble tombstone, but not sure

hi hi -

I whipped this up tonight to see how a faux marble tombstone would look. I would use a solid colored lettering, black or off white, but not sure how it looks.

I was thinking of going more green, doing a rose marble which is mostly white with rose colored accents or even going to granite. I've seen alot of real granite tombstones but they mostly seem a solid color when you see it from far away.

Right now I think it's a bit busy and it needs some more subdued color tones. Looking for opinions! What do you think?

I think it looks great, especially when you consider low light levels. Your lettering will have to be bold to stand out, but I like it.

Nah man I was a fine arts major and do home remodeling... it looks great!

Take in mind you want it to be slightly exagerated "busy" so you don't lose the level of detail in the dim of your night time haunt lighting.

I think it looks awesome. So glad you posted this, too. For the past few months I've wanted to do a marble look. Saw somewhere that someone duplicated marble with black gloss paint and a thin layer of the packaged spider webbing. Unfortunately, I couldn't get it to work. Will have to try this! THANKS!!

i concur with the overall theme of this thread.. it looks awesome during the day and it will look even sweeter at night

Looks awesome.. I would test it with some night lighting to be sure the white veining doesn't need to be dulled up a little. Very nice effect.
