One two Freddy's coming for you... !One of my good friends has been bugging me to make him a Freddy glove for the longest time, so I finally got around to making it! While it is not movie quality or a dead on replica, I tried my hardest to come close without obsessing over the details! He wanted the weight and feel of a real glove, so this was my first foray into the realm of metal work! I cut the glove out of .22 gauge steel using tin snips and the blades were made out of 3/16" metal stock. The gloves were easy, but using a Dremel and cut off wheels made for an interesting 4+ hours to get the blades! My garage is set up for woodworking and I have almost no tools for metal besides said tin snips! I would definitely suggest a better way of making the blades! I'd rather carve out 20 tombstones... talk about tedious! Piece of .22 sheet was like $7, 3/16" stock for blades was $6.75, and the brass rivets were $5 for 100, I work in a tire shop so I snatched a distressed glove for free and I had the solder/flux and other parts sitting around in the garage (plenty more material to make at least 2 more gloves), so this is a fun project that didn't break the bank! It is also quite heavy.. Feels nice
Kinda want one for myself now!
Lately I've been obsessed with making stuff and putting them in a display box, so I'm probably going to make a box for the gloves too! Probably a picture of Freddy routed on the outside and maybe stain/paint it to look like something is rotting or burning the box from the inside out.. Kinda like the Ark of the Covenant in the crate in Indiana Jones! Line it with velvet and maybe distress the inside of the lid with Freddy's signature claw marks! Lots of ideas.. Just need to bring them to fruition! When I get around to that I'll post some more pics, but here is the finished glove!
