This seems like a longshot, but I'm hoping someone can provide advice on what motor I should get for the requirements below. I'm quite stuck and would *really* appreciate help

    Requirements:

60 RPM's is ideal, but anything between 45 and 65 RPM's would work.
Needs to be able to lift a twelve-ounce prop 6 inches in the air.
    Under $50 in price.

    Thanks!

    Look here... http://stores.ebay.com/Kimke-Wei__W0...nkw=gear+motor

He has lots of 60 rpm and I used the same motor but with less rpm, and it will lift 12 oz and THEN SOME. They are pretty powerful... I believe they are used in shiatzu messagers.

Yubney, thank you for the fast answer. I looked at the link you provided and I did see some 60rpm motors listed as having high torque, and they were *really* inexpensive! So that's a great lead. Now since the motors I saw from that seller were all 12v, does that mean I need a transformer?

Do you know what a wall wart is? It's any plug in power adapter like you would find for a portable cd player or something. You will want to dig up an old 12 volt version, I'm sure the amps would be sufficient.

Simply cut the plug off and split the wires and connect to the terminals on the motor. I seem to remember that either end makes no difference, only connecting to either posts on the motor depends on the direction it will turn.
