Visual Show Automation is what I know as VSA. It is software produced by Brookshire Software. I use it to control animatronic props and DMX lights and devices. I am able for example to use VSA to send commands over wires to servo motors located in the skeleton head of one my props. I am able to create a program for each servo by dragging my mouse over a certain area in the program window and create an "event" The mouse creates a horizontal bar on your screen. The longer the bar the longer the event lasts. The beginning of the bar tells the servo motor what position to begin the event in, and the end of the bar what position to be in at the end of the event. The combination of events created for each of the various servo motors makes my skeleton head move in a life-ike manner.

Here is a screen shot of VSA with some events programmed in it
