I'd like to thank alucard from http://www.pineyhills.com/index.htm for his awesome pillar candle tutorial! I was browsing the depths of the forum today and stumbled across his awesome spider sac prop thread (and tutorial!) and I was lurking around on his website when I found some inspiration for a new night light for my room! I bought a strand of flicker bulb lights like two years ago and have never used them because I didn't know where they would fit! Two days ago I went to Lowes to buy candelabra sockets, wire, bulbs, and cords and it quickly got very EXPENSIVE! I was planning on wiring my own lamp possibly another copper one, or(still plan on it one day... muwahaha) PVC candles, but once I saw his tutorial on making a ten pillar candle outta something I already had laying around that I could use, I quickly ran into the garage and here is the result! I love my Halloween hoarding habit because I *KNEW* those flicker strings would come in handy! Almost no cutting or wiring involved! That means more time drinking beer and taking pictures! Whoo! And now I have a plethora of said light making supplies for another day!
I played around with all the bulbs exposed, (I lengthened the wire in between on the last two so they'd go to the top) but I also liked the look of having the bulbs pushed inside the PVC pipe. I couldn't decide which I liked better so I went with a 50/50 split! My video camera sucks in the dark!

Thanks for the tutorials and a use for those damn flicker bulb strands!!!![]()

They look great! I love the flicker bulbs...all i have right now are the tea light flickers and they don't give off near as much light.

Nice candles. I like the way you have them bunched. By the way, if you or anyone is looking for cheap candelabra bases to make these try www.klockit.com under the "Lamp Supplies" and "sockets, cords, switches, plugs". I buy them there for 50 cents each, which beats Lowes anyday. You can get the flicker bulbs there too.
I am in no way associated to them, just like to pass along places where you can get deals.

Looks awesome, now for the stupid part, where did you get the lights? I'm thinking of trying this build.

@BeaconSamurai I picked them up at a Lonqs drugstore for super cheap two years ago, but I was looking for prices now and it's kinda steep!

Maybe wait for Christmas lights the c7 outdoor bulbs once they go on sale and then you can purchase c7 flicker bulbs for relatively cheap and switch them out for the christmas bulbs!
@Jaege thanks for the tip! Cheaper is definitely better!
I just went about it this way because it was fast, easy and I finally found a use for something I've been hoarding for years!
It does give off more light than tea lights, but not much! More of a decorative piece than a real night light! hehe
