Thread: Toxic Zombie Help

I want to do a version of the "Toxic Zombie" that jumps out from a barrel. Before I go reinventing the wheel, I thought I should ask and or see if anyone has done something like this:

I will have a person dressed up as a worker, he will use a dolly to move around a drum with the zombie inside. He will approach people and do a little skit of asking if they seen his partner, then the "Zombie" will pop up and hopefully scare them a little.

And there is my problem. Since he will be moving around a good distance I cannot use and hoses or wires for power. Has anyone built one that is portable using Pneumatics or motors? If so how did you power it? I will most likely also have to use a small fog machine too.

My fall back plan is to use dry ice and move the zombie by having the person simply step on a lever.

Any help and or advice is greatly appreciated.

Our biggest professional haunt here in Atlanta is called Netherworld.
They have a guy walking around outside doing just what you are talking about.
The barrel has wheels and handles welded on. I guess you could do the same with a hand truck.
The popup is not powered at all. It is all mechanical. A foot pedal at the back of the barrel pushes up a scissor mechanism that makes the zombie popup.
He scares the crap out of people standing in line with that thing.
