i was whining the other day about buying this string of green, purple, and orange lights that were regular they don't sell anywhere ive seen for less than $10 for a 50 count, so i got creative and blamo! one trip to micheals 3 colors of acrylic paint ($2 for each) one paint brush ($2) i got what i wanted. sounds like i got $10 in it but i can make 3 to 4 strings out of each thing of paint so ill take it as paying $3 for each ****note these are low heat LED's with a cover over the LED**** so no risk of fire.

**note the purple looks the best even though it looks blue, the green looks very witchy though***

Cool. Good thinking. Have anything special you are going to use them on?

I found some glass paint on sale that I was going to use on those small led flashlights to give them color. Haven't done it yet, but knowing that you had a success with it has gotten me motivated again.

Do you think this paint would work on the glass inserts in a light? I have some coach lights I am mounting on the top of my cemetery columns and would like the light to be purple.

on the coach lights i would just pain the glass on the outside do a light coat and you can darken it with multiple coats til you get where you want it with the color/light out put. i wouldn't put it on the inside b/c most paints ive seen when they get too hot near a incandescent light bulb it can and most likely will catch fire or smoke very badly. and as for the LED bulb is a cool type bulb (one where the temp doesn't get very high, most are) then you should have no problem painting it. it worked really well for me, i just am probably gonna have to do a 2nd coat on some of the orange one's the green and purple are great.
