One of our favorite old time sound effect collections was from a 1970's album entitled Halloween Horrors. Side 2 of the album is called The Sounds of Halloween. It is reviewed on this page (http://www.endlessgroove.com/issue2/horrorsfx.htm) and the sound effects are available for download at the bottom of this page (http://smurfwreck.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=265208). Some of the sounds are ridiculous, but this was the album we used to begin our haunt in 1984.

By listening to effects samples on Amazon you can use Windows Recorder to record "what you hear".

With some simple .wav file sound editing software (freeware) you can mix, extend, and loop what you like.

I've built some 7 minute scene setting tracks I've been told are great (if I do say so myself).
What doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.

unfortunatly i do not know of any websites, any sound effects i use i have got from shops, e-mailed to me or occasionaly e-bay or amozen has some cool effects, if you are looking for some awesome software to trigger sound effects then i use combiwave, you can assigne a sound effect to each key on your keyboard and trigger effects when you want them, great for scaring kids when there in the right place, not so good if you dont have anyone to keep pressing the keys though.
i wish i had an air compressor

ofcourse poisonprops.com. I am a producer of rado spots for many years and I actually collection sound effects. Anytime I see a cd for sale on around Halloween, I buy it. I probably have 100 Halloween cds alone and about 300 regular sound effects cd.

I hate it when you buy a cd and then you buy another named and packaged different, but it is exactly the same.

The best Halloween stuff that I have by far is poison props stuff, then big scream's set.
