    Hey guys,

So sorry, im really stressed out because i started on this so late, im now looking for a way to have a wiper motor rig with a spider attached to it, so it just turns it about 45 degrees [hanging on a string from motor], i really want it to be similar motions to what a windshiled wiper on low speed would do..

If not, anyone know how i can rig a small 2in. spider to slowly move up and down inexpensively?

[If anyone familiar with the nightmare before christmas, im modifying my Oogie Boogie prop to have this spider animated hanging from the back of his head..]

    Thank you so much!

If you're just moving a 2in. spider, use a deer motor. I'm sure you can pick up a Christmas deer at a yard sale for a couple bucks.

Ive got the deer motors, but i cant easliy figure out how to get it positioned right on the tip of his head, and to move [swing] back and forth.

OK guys, so this is the last thing now that i am racking my brain about, and its so simple...

how do i make a spider swing back and forth just a few inches while hiding the motor on a wooden wall about 1-2ft. back. This is all i need to figure out and ive got 3 "Disco Ball" motors and 3 reindeer motors..whichever ocuold possibly be easier i dont know!

    Thank You for nay help!!

Maybe this animation will help. Just think of this upside-down with the spider hanging from the green stick:

This would definitely work very well!

The only obstacle is, it would be hard to hide...since i would essentialy have 2 rod coming from the top and left walls around his head moving side to side.

But yes, a very very good solution..

SO my last headache on this tiny animation is...i need more "cam arm" accessories, but cant find anywhere to get them, anyone have some good solutions on how to make your own arms etc. to come from the reindeer motors since they are not exactly what you may need?

Daveinthegrave, that is such a simple mechanism for so many possible applications. Thanks for the link.
I can think of a least 4 different ways I could use this in my haunt.
When storage is a concearn, put your monster props under the kids beds.

You're welcome! The Flying Pig site has several simple mechanical animations.
Check out the "Mechanisms" menu on the left:
