I have an idea for an alternate version of the typical flying crank ghost.
I want a mechanism to make a hanging prop sweep upwards and forward in air.
Here is my idea
Using a wiper motor, the arm will rotate a pull the hanging prop backwards and up. As the arm continues to rotate, the prop should begin to move forward as it moves up.
I will light the prop at the top portion only so that guests only see it as it rises.
Here is the hanging prop that I plan on using. This will be in my new haunted child's room.

It should give you a nice effect. It wont have arm movement though.

I dont really care about arm movement. The prop I am going to use has arms reaching out.
I just want it to leap up and out toward guests.

Cool. Use a fast motor and it will scare the %^*$ out of your toters.

Niiice! Will the ghost cycle continuously, or will it run single cycles on-demand?
I...have many names...

Otaku
I think I am going to just let it run continuous.
I have several other props that are all triggered and I just dont have enough hardware power to automate one more prop.
I think I might just trigger the light with a motion detector and let the hanging prop move continuosly.

Cool idea! That will be a nice variation on the FCG for sure!

How are you going to get the wire for the eyes to the ghost? Is it going to float, attached to the ghost at one point, and the wall at another point, or will it move with the control string? I ask because I have been trying to think of a way to wire my FCG, and any way I try, the wire into the back of the ghost ruins the flowing movement of the ghost. I finally gave up, and now the FCG is one of the few props I still have to turn on manually, with the led's and battery mounted in her head.
