Thread: Cheating Tombstones From $1 Store

Dollar Tree has these small Tombstones and they weren't too bad but small and thin:


So I traced them out on foam, cut them out and attached them adding some to the bottom for the base:


Then cut more foam for the base and a "slot" in it to slide the tombstone into:

This is put together all that's left is to paint them to match the existing stone.

I know it's cheating but These were quick, easy & cheap I'll post the finished pics when I'm done painting.

It's only cheating if you get caught... Great idea though.

Freaking AWESOME idea! I just bought some of these myself, and I was trying to think of a way to make them fit in with the rest of the stones that I wanna do. PERFECT! Keep the pics coming, I'd like to see what else you do with them.

Here is another idea on how to enlarge these small stones. This why I bought 6 of them this year.

Tombstones Made Easy

My friend attached some to his cemetery columns and then painted the whole thing in a stone color.

Great ideas, I was just wondering what to do with mine...I don't have any homemade one's to blend them in, but it would be great to make them a little more sturdy

I saw the small stones at Dollar Tree last night and I knew I should have gotten some. I probably would have if the lines at the registers didn't extend half-way down the aisles.

Great idea.
Another idea is if you have a larger stone you could glue it to it.Shoot for 1.00 I am sure you can think of ways to use it.

thats an awesome idea. Its a great way to produce a bunch of realistic tombstones quickly and cost effectively.

I have a ton of these & every year they end up getting blown over.

Now I know how to rectify this!!
