I need ideas for the outside entrance of our huanted house this year.
We have it in the clubhouse of our subdivision.
This year I want to dress up the outside to look very creepy.
Love to see photos and hear ideas of everyone's entrances.

How elaborate do you want to get? Cause my idea of creepy is a cave entrance in the weathered shape of a skull (just the upper half with the mandible disappearing into the ground) with vines and moss growing over it. Then the eyes would be lit with a flickering candle effect. Then to top it all off, have low-lying fog floating around the entrance. To light the whole thing, I would use a gel color of midnight blue or similar to give it that moonlit night look and angle it so it is either at the 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock position for the lengthened shadows.

I want it to be elaborate. When have spent the past 4 years making the inside very elaborate. I have been told it is on the level of a professional haunted house.
Except for the outside entrance in my opinion.

I am thinking about some type of old castle look.

Last year's entrance. It's made with 2" pink styrofoam:

Here's another I've always liked. From Universal's Halloween Horror Nights:

That's it. I knew I could count on you.
Do you have any construction photos of that entrance?
By the way, we are headed to Universal this year for Horror Nights.
This will be our first time going. What did you tihnk of it?

    Even better...I have a tutorial:

    Haunt Entrance Gate

Looks like there is a picture missing. I'll go hunt it up and put it back.

Oh, missed your comment about HHN. I LOVE IT! and will be going back this year. Be sure to buy the express passes (not the normal ones - the ones for HHN) because the lines are Loooong. But, there's shot bars in the line so that'll help

HHN is where I got my name. One year the icon was The Terra Queen.

Kind of pricey for me, fearfather. Think I'll stick to styrofoam, reindeer motors and wig heads.

I like the castle idea too. That kind of goes with any theme...cemetery, pirate, dungeon/torture chamber. No matter what you put inside, it works.
