Howdy everyone. I wanted to see what you think of my Zombie Chef. I have had the chef done for a while now. I just finished his tombstone and hole. The display is finally complete. Here he is in daylight, which doesn't do him justice.
I got the idea for this build from Dave Lowe, he did a Dr. Livingston version which I liked. I just thought it would be funny if a chef cooked himself. The "fire" is a Home Depot bucket. The "pepper shaker" is a spare table leg from Home Depot. The eyes glow using LED's. The hole and tombstone are made from pink foam. The two spoons are what he used to dig himself out. They also go into the ground to secure the hole in place.
I played with the lighting (using those LED flashlights from HD), here he is at night. Which do you like better the light only on the tombstone or on both?

Great idea with the orange bucket! Looks better with the lights.

What a great idea! I like the lights on both.
Life is too short to not do what makes us happy, keeps us sane, or both.

Love the props, nice job on them, and the love the humor too. The artwork is really terrific.
When I saw the glow of the kettle fire which I immediately noticed looking at the pic, I wondered how you had achieved that. Took me a second to realize what you meant by the HD bucket. What a great effect for such a large glowing area. Never would have occurred to me to do that.
I think I like both lit but would suggest using a colored light on the kettle guy. I think the white light illuminates everything a bit too much but it's nice to see the detail of the kettle all the same. So maybe a green light possibly? I like the lighting on the tombstone better in pic 1 where all the text is readable.

This is hilarious, I love it

As for the lights, I agree with Ghost of Spookie, a coloured light on the zombie and white in the tombstone so you can read it.My blog Efelants & Woozles

Not ultra realistic but not Martha Stewart either... I LOVE THE WHIMSY!

Oh...THAT cracks me up! hee! What a cool, funny take on Halloween.
I like 'em both lit too but Spookie's idea of colored light for one is a good idea. If you can get a hold of some colored gels (even cheaper - get a sample booklet) you can just tape a gel over the LED flashlight you have already.
Here's a link to a sample booklet: Amazon.com: Roscolux Swatch Book, Small Sampler of Almost Every Filter.: Camera & Photo
Some places will just toss it into your order if you ask them.
