Hey hows it going, I might have posted this in the wrong section but I have never owned any of the Halloween inflatable props and this year I seen 2 that I would like to give a try, this Halloween I will be for sure living in the so cal desert area and im sure they get some stronger winds so just wondering from anyone who owns any of these or has used them, can you tell me if they do good or bad in wind ? I have read a little bit on one of the sites that sells them but id rather ask a real person who is not trying to sell me one ha ha. But if they are not going to hold up to well in the higher wind area then maybe it would be best not to buy one. Ok any help would be great !!!!

Okay..... be patient with me. I drive like an hour and half to go to school, so there will be this house, that Spookyone and I call the Balloon House. They do seasonal inflatables and we come to adore them as we drive by to go to school. One thing we notice as we were talking about weather wise of having them was that they are tied down to the ground. Even in a thundering, wind storming we took notice that they stood their ground a good bit, that it had our approval to think about getting one our self.
Now a time came where our mother gotten us 5 foot tall inflatable skulls head. We notice that they are heavy in the bottom of the inflateable, like filled with sand to help stand aground as well as being tied to the ground.
Go for it and see how ya like.

We have a few and the wind is a pain in the but. We have a huge 8 foot Reaper that last year, all the tabs for the hooks ripped due the high winds. Thank God it didn;t rip open, just the tab, but still, he kept falling all over the place after. Need to fix it this year some how.
If the in flatable is more spaced and a flat bottom to hook around, as my giant inflatable pumking, we had never a problem with it, you should be good. Also, the soil where you hook play's a part in it. we notice obviously that if it rains a lot, the earth becomes muddy and the hooks are way left effective and your floats might fly away in a huge storm. It happen on night, huge storm, the next morning, the Reaper was in my neighbours front yard, beside his car (L).
Also, pegs, if you can, take the twisty ones (like a spirals) single stick ones are not very good, one quick pull and they come out easily.
I hope this help!

We only inflate ours Halloween night...its the Haunted House one, so its used more as an activity than as a decoration. That being said, it is a real pain when the wind is up. We dont even try to inflate it if its windy. Last year we didnt have it and it was really missed. But no matter how tight to the ground you stake it, when a high wind comes up, its just a mess! Not sure about the other ones as we dont have any of those.

Like MichaelMyers1 mentioned, I also only inflate mine on Halloween night and I only display it in my backyard for the smaller kids to see. I like to have the spookiness out front.
As Nowhining mentione also - they are heavy on the bottom and come with tie downs to help keep from blowing over.Is it Halloween yet?

I use about 3 inflatables in my yard every year.
12 ft jack o lanterns
10 ft ghosts
3 ft spider.
I set them up about 1 week before Halloween and have the yard illumunated. You can see them from a 500 yds away. It helps draw a crowd on Halloween night.
The bad part is that October is our rainy season. They tend to get muddy when they are deflated and sitting on the ground. I've also had water start to collect inside of them when they are deflated. I find myslef having to clean them at least once during the week and before putting them away for the season.
I've not had any problems with wind then I tied them down properly. I also went to Home Depot and bought some 1/8" steel cable and ferrules and made stronger tie down cables and I also bought heavy duty stakes. The ones that came with them were good enough, but I have kids running across my lawn and tripping over the black nylon tie down cords. (and I like the stopping power of braided steel cables.
