[IMG][/IMG]so on another thread i showed a picture of a doll i bought at a garage sale, then the next weekend i found a cooler that thought would go great with the doll to turn into a "beloved" style tombstone. so i'm so excited cause i finally got the dolls hair unmatted and wanted to show pics and thought i'd start my own thread of the progress of the tombstone. the first pic is of the doll i bought

the second pic is of her unmatted hair

i've gotten it all monster mudded and one coat of drylock on so far i'll post some pics of it down the road.

thanks, it's not going to be to wonderful, i'm not a tombstone maker but terra's idea was so cool it was just something i had to do. mine will have a sort of twist to it, and those that have seen it so far don't like it, they think it's morbid, but to me it's kinda sentimental. instead of "beloved" on it, it has "dad". i thought since it was a doll she'd resemble a little girl. and i was going to put mom on it but figured my mom would freak and i lost my dad ten years ago so it just hit the right spot for me.

I would put vines or moulding around the seam that is showing near the top so it doesn't look like dad's beer cooler
I LOVE the pic from the top view. I have a doll I plan on doing this with and hope it looks half as good as yours!

That turned out very nice! The way her hair cascades down is very beautiful. I also like the small scale of it. Yes, it's a bit sad but Beloved is all about heart-breaking loss.

Nicely done and the doll looks great draped over the stone but agree with Deadna about the seam.
