Has anyone got any pictures or tutorials on how i can make pneumatic wings open from a closed position to fully extended this is to go on a animatronic ,Im trying to do a similar prop to Distortions gargolye shock but using the devil as the character.I can think of a pulley system where the cylinder extends pulling wires tight and pulling the wings up ,But thought id ask for better ideas so it looks realistic
thanks

There is Free Halloween Software @ http://www.boopack.com/software.html , Wing Designer/Simulator. it is not easy to use but if you can understand what is going on it is. It will show you sizes of each part and pivot points and you can move parts around and test till you get it right. The four bar is good also, I have not tried the other stuff but someone else might have and they can tell us about them.

Hey,
Not sure if this could help but I'm looking into this for my underworld in 2011. The red was discontinued but California Costumes still makes a grey version. What I was hoping to do was mount the wings and attached the pneumatic cylinder to the pull cords. Thus opening and closing the wings as the cylinder extends and contracts. Unfortunately I do not know how sturdy the wings are. For $50.00 + shipping I'm going to try it.
