That is the same board majority of the people prefer to use. The only reason I use the white beady stuff is because I got it for free.

Really bad time of the year for purchasing insulation board. You need to catch it when the warmer building season isn't in full bloom. 28.00 is TOO much.

Also check on line. I stumbled on this one a while back. Instead of the regular house board they sell in blocks, sheets and balls. The beauty of pink foam is that you can work it just like wood. It even seems to have a "grain" to it!

I perfer the white beaded board also, i like the way the top comes out. they look old and worn in from years of weather. i always line the back of them with a sheet of 3/16 ply to keep the wind from breaking them.
whats your name?I couldnt hear it very well last night when i was hiding under your bed!

i only use pink foam. The whits gets to be to messy and i feel i can achieve better detail with the pink foam.

I too only use the blue or pink but I get it for $12 a sheet all year long at Lowes or Home Depot. As a PSA, the dust you kick up from the white beaded foam is really bad for your lungs and especially hard on anyone with respiratory issues.

28 is what my local lowes wants for 2 inch foam, 12 dollars may be for 3/4 or 1 inch

I use all the different kinds. The price sometimes differs in different parts of the country and also is driven by disaster.Supply and demand I guess.
I had used the thinner kind and glued it to make the thicker stones. But for the life of me couldn't get the glue to hold.Hubby found me some 3 inch and so I cut some of the old stones and glued it to the new.It makes nice looking plaques.
Upon destroyng them I discovered I had not taking the plastic off of some of them.So now I know why they wouldn't stick-I thought I had got all of it off.
Well no more glueing pieces for me the price on them were around 40.00.
