Thread: Looking for Haunted Mansion stuff

I am decorating my living room Haunted Mansion, and there are some GREAT sites out there with IDEAS on how to decorate, and the things to decorate with, but none of them tell a person HOW TO BUY those items.

I thought I had a grandslam when I went to Disneyland and found the Stretching Room Portraits on the Print on Demand system, and ordered a rather large canvas print a few weeks ago.

Yesterday I was informed I wouldn't receive my print (bummer) and the company that was doing the prints isn't printing anymore for the foreseeable future (bigger bummer).

So right now I'm out on a rope trying to figure out WHAT to put in place of where this big 32x40 Canvas Print was going to go (behind my couch in the living room).... I have a whole 8x10 wall to fill now.

I'd LOVE to find some prints somewhere or something like that. I already have the O-pin House HM Flyer, as well as the Attraction Poster. I was lucky enough to get those before they shut down the system. I'm also having the COOLEST one of a kind DVD Cabinets made in the shape of the Haunted Mansion Entrance Gate Pillars...But all that goes on the wall with the TV.. =(

I particularly love the Duelers and the Stretching Room and the Hallway Pics (before you board your doombuggie)...

HELP!! I think I've killed my brain cells searching for alternatives. I know someone here will help me!

I'm an HM fan too. Check ebay out. I've found some cool items on there - some rare, some common. But check it out if you haven't yet....

yeah. spent most of last night searching ebay. The only things that I found that would look good (and I don't already own), were WAY WAY WAY overpriced. I was willing to kick down $300 for a canvas Print, but $505 for a Print that is SMALLER and PAPER is absolutely retarded!

Maybe check CL for a local aspiring artist. SD has alot hanging around the Gas Lamp and you could possibly buy the next Rembrandt or Picasso!

WOD isn't shipping right now. Their Print on Demand System is shut down, and all they have available are the VERY expensive limited edition Prints, and nothing of the Haunted Mansion (I was just there 3 weeks ago and talked to Guest Services on Monday). When people found out the POD System went down they pretty much sold out of all of their in-store HM Prints within hours, and Disney currently has no way to replace them. Super bummed.

The CL idea is a good one, but I'm not really interested in something that is just halloween oriented, I want specifically Haunted Mansion as half of the room is already decorated in Haunted Mansion.

I could paint you something if you wanted to go that route. I have painted several Haunted Mansion themes for my house. Here are some of my paintings.

Scourge... Those are REALLY great. I LOVE the hat box ghost, but I've had people express dismay and fear of coming to my house if I put him up... I am trying to keep it as non-threatening to my non-halloween people as possible... lol... They all pretty much think I'm crazy as it is, and I'm afraid no one will visit if I make my living room too scary.

Disney Store has practically NOTHING from the Haunted Mansion decor wise. They have a bunch of Nightmare before Xmas stuff, but that's not my theme, and frankly I have access to a TON of nightmare before xmas stuff... I just spent an entire year working on it last year for a party, and it kinda has bad memories (really bad drama occurred as a result).

I keep checking ebay... a couple weeks ago there was a REALLY awesome throw blanket on there... it sold for like $50... I SHOULD have bid on it... soooo mad at myself for not. allposter.com only has posters from that REALLY bad first movie.. =(

I'm gonna keep looking though.... and if i get desperate I'll paint something myself. I'm not talented, but I have a knack for copying things that other people have already done....
