Here are some pics of my pallet wood "Toe Pincher" coffin build so far....This coffin is going to replace a wire and fabric coffin that I had previously used in my haunt. There is no bottom to this prop as I am going to put a small floodlight and a fog machine inside of it, so it will be slightly elevated off the ground a couple of inches for air to flow in and out. The top will be skewed open a little bit to allow for a skeleton hand/arm to come out....

I am going to be adding some rope handles, chains and moss to it to finish things off.

    More pics to follow...

Nice job! I know those crimped staples/nails are a pain to get out.

Thanks! Yeah, those nails are a real pain to get out....I ended up using a Sawzall to cut through them.... I got the pallets for free off of Craig's List and what ever boards I break I use for kindling for my fire pit, so I pretty much recycle everything....

I have a few more pallet wood props in the works....more pics to follow...!!!

Very cool! I like the look of the old wood. I just started collecting pallets & misc. wood from work with the intention of making a fence around my cemetery. I'll keep this in mind, tho!

im partial to old fencing... the cedar ages to a nice grey color and when hurricanes hit, such as Ike, fences fall down and are thrown out. the fencing has less nails and more uniform boards. the downside is the new bright wood that a fresh cut leaves on the edge...

Aside from head stones, this was the first big prop I built. The nails are a real B!#&H to get out. After I was done, people on here told that they use a recipocating saw. The next one was much easier. Looks great!!

The prop looks great. I bet it weighs a ton! It should be nice and sturdy.
I'm thinking about making 1/2 of a coffin so that I can stick one end of it out of the ground on a slant. It should look good in a graveyard.
