Thread: Help with a Witches spell book

I was wondering if any of you incredibly talented folks have ever automated the turning of a page in a spell book. A trio of witches is on the drawing board and it would be neat to have one of them holding a spell book and having the pages turn. Suggestions?

cool idea I hope someone can help with this.. I have books.. I agree one that the pages turn would be amazing

If i were to do this I would do it with air. I would set it up so 2 or 3 pages would turn using a puff or air for each, then on to move them back. I would glue all but the pages I want to turn together add 4 air lines. 3 of the air line would flip the pages individually and the 4th would flip all the pages back. run the air line through the book. The first page to flip would have no holes the second would have 1 hole and the third would have 2 holes. these holes allow the puff of air to move the page above.

Using a reindeer motor, attach a length of fishing line threw the pages ( glue 2 pages together with a thin piece of cardboard sandwiched between the 2 glued pages that the fishing line would be wrapped around once then threaded threw to the next page ) Probably only be able to get 3 or 4 pages, but as the motor pulled the line tight it would pull each page in turn one by one( slack line between each page ) , then pending which motor you had (full rotation or stops half way then reverses direction ) when the motor goes in opposite direction, it pulls the 1st page back with the rest & resets the effect............. rough thoughts & only on my 1st cup of coffee,......... was trying to consider auto reset also..........
The motor would be under the book centered in a hollow area below book, lines run from left to right across/on top book & thru pages. Like a sawing action......... oK those are my rambling thoughts for the morning........

If I didn't already have my hands full with projects right now, I'd give it a try,.....so this is up for a prop challenge build..............

That would probaly be one mess lol!!

Graet Idea!!! Maybe go off the Three Witches with one eye & have one holding it's eye. Have the eye turn in it's fingers like it's reading the pages.
