Hello. I would like to ask for some help. I purchased Dean Meyers 3 axis skulls. I have built a lot of props but I have no experience with animatronics. I bought Brookshire VSA. I have to be honest - I am at a loss on how to even get started. I installed VSA and can run the Meyers' routine from my machine. I am not clear how to get started with the VSA software beyond running his routine. The VSA getting started document was no help. Is there any resources that can help someone like me that is really starting from square zero? I am pretty intimidated and wondering if I got in over my head.

The skulls have the Parallax (#28823) controller. I would like to start just by making the jaw move correctly to a song.

I have been researching but just have not found anything that has been helpful yet.

    Thanks - John

Under the 'help' setting click on 'contents'. There is a manual buried in there.

Thanks for the info. There is a little more to this programming than I thought. I have seen all the videos of the skulls singing songs and thought it would be a snap. It appears a lot of the work involves manipulating the wav (or MP3) files. Is there a resource for getting the audio files already separated out? I saw the Halloween carols for downloading in a thread (perhaps it was halloweenbob’s thread). I think I am going to try TrackSkull for the head movements. I ordered the TrackIR 5 head tracking setup today. I have never worked with audio files but I have also never worked with VSA or servos before now either.

I am sure I will have more questions as I get into this project further. I have been searching like crazy all over the forum for hints, tips, and tricks. The “Who’s on slab one” routine is great. Is that audio available for download somewhere?

    Thanks again.
