I think this sux; what do Y'all think?

Trying to creep out my house with vines; thinking it'll look abandoned. Put the vines in my 'faux hole in siding'. I think it sux, but my daughter likes it. Thought I'd ask y'all what your thoughts were. Thinking I should add more vines along top and going into corner. And add some on the porch. But possibly trash the 'hole' and just go with the vines. Any suggestions? and thanx in advance.

Use brown, black and yellow spray paints to erase the stock glossiness of the leaves. Mist the colors on to give it that dead look. For what looks like black plastic between the slats, use a rust color and flat black to tone down the shine.

Remember to do this at night and under the lights you're gonna use on run night. That way you'll know what it'll look like on Halloween.

This is cool. I agree with Gorey; just take it a little farther.
Perhaps you could place some old broken siding boards on the porch to show that they fell off. Also, pop a little shadow in on the "2x4 studs" where they touch the "hole" in the siding...This will make is look like the siding is on a different plane than the "2x4's."

I think it has great potential and its looking great. I love the previous suggestions. Perhaps some vines climbing up as well. Can't wait to see the finished product

When doing this, you should put the cracks and holes in random places to make it look more realistic, but looks great so far

Try adding in some smaller leaved vines to show new growth. I'm testing out a similar effect indoors using two different sized ivy and the combination of large and smaller leaves gave me a more realistic feel.
