Thread: Prop Ideas for 2010!

I went to Home Depot today and man was I excited! I have MANY props i'd like to create for 2010 but doing them in installments.... focusing on one prop at a time and not going nuts over 5 of 'em. So... here are my props i'd like to do!

Cemetery Columns/Gate/Fence- Raven Manor . It kinda got it's inspiration from the Moonlit Project, so it had the same kinda style w/o all the foam and you could change it up if you wanted to.
I was actually planning on doing the one from Moonlit Project , but it had a lot of dimensions to measure and alot of foam with support from cut pieces from cedar board(2x2) . Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this site! Oddly enough, it didn't have a supply list. I tried to go thru every slide...but yea.. Besides, I have nice big pieces of scrap wood laying around! And I don't have 60 bucks for a router...

Cemetery Arch/Header-
Heat gun to a pvc pipe spray painted black and with letter cut out of plywood and spray painted black? Attached to columns of course

Tombstones-
I got most of my inspiration from skid_68 and Terra . And followed Terra's tombstone materials that I got a Home Depot. So, I shall start soon!

Fog Chiller-
dr.kreepy1 has an awesome video on building a cheapo one, and i'm up for that!

Walking Graveyard Ghost-
I can think of a few ways I could do this. Either a static prop with cheesecloth(for ghost) plain or it soaked n dried with Rit Whitner. Or I could do a cheesecloth fabric (for ghost) soaked in Rit Whitner or plain, but on a mechanized zipline(with a pulley?). But I'm talking lifesize, so, i'll have to brainstorm. Floating just above ground.

Witch Stirring Cauldron(Cast Member dressed up)-
Umm, Martha Stewart?

Large Twigs Lining Driveway-
Collected from the forest, to give a free eerie sleepy hollow type effect. Just alot of time spent picking up dead limbs...

Inside-
Spiderwebs, tea stained cheesecloth, mad scientist/potion bottles setup, off white/white sheets(to cover furniture...like it's abandoned), just candlelight, chilled ground hugging fog(WEEE!), etc.

sounds like a great list of great props and when you get them done you will have some way awesome stuff for your display. Now get out there and start building already! Oh! and don't forget to take pictures and post them here....I wanna see.
